The Center was established in 2012 by faculty and Master’s students in the I/O psychology program at The University of Texas at Arlington. We are a progressive, research-based group that can provide business solutions that are grounded in science to companies seeking to enhance the workplace. Our goal is to help bridge the gap between scientist and practitioner by connecting the business community with our students. Combining knowledge of psychology and scientific methodology, we will assess and help to resolve the issues relevant to businesses today.
Our philosophy is based on two fundamental ideas. The first is the development of sustainable working relationships with organizations. We emphasize working with rather than for organizations - we provide answers to as well as learn from experts in the field. We believe this two-way, 50/50 partnership is vital to any successful business initiative. The second is the development of I/O-related student competencies. Extending student development to outside of the classroom emphasizes the importance of experiential learning and hands-on practice which is vital to the growth of our aspiring I/O professionals.
Created to enhance the educational experience of the I/O Master's students at UT Arlington
We are fortunate to have the guidance of an excellent group of advisors, diverse in knowledge and expertise, who are actively involved in the continued development and growth of The Center.
